Tropical Cyclone Olga develped from a tropical low in the Indian Ocean to the northwest of Broome on April 6 2024.
Olga developed quickly to a Severe Tropical Cyclone category 4 over open waters well to the north northwest of Broome. Olga has to weakened into a tropical low overnight. Ex-Tropical Cyclone Olga is moving to the south southwest towards the far west Pilbara coast. Gales are continuing on the southern side but are expected to ease overnight. A period of strong to gale force winds is possible today and tonight for coastal areas of the west Pilbara as ex-Olga passes close by.

Intensity: tropical low, sustained winds near the centre of 75 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 100 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 30 kilometres of 19.8 degrees South, 115.6 degrees East , 165 kilometres northwest of Karratha and 280 kilometres north northeast of Exmouth .
Movement: south southwest at 17 kilometres per hour .
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Olga is moving to the south southwest towards the far west Pilbara coast. Gales are continuing on the southern side but are expected to ease overnight. A period of strong to gale force winds is possible today and tonight for coastal areas of the west Pilbara including Barrow Island and as ex-Olga passes close by.
